Most memorable running event
Obviously winning the 1989 National NAIA Marathon. I ran negative splits (1:15+, 1:14+) and was only leading the last mile - still winning by 1:37 - I ran the last 10K in 34:20, or so. A feeling and event I will never forget.
Favorite place to run - on bike path from RiverWood (N of County Rd 20) to Trollwood Park.
Favorite workout - Ladder (400, 800, Mi, then down) or Step repeats
Started running to get into shape for football in Junior High School.
If you can make it to the Boston Marathon - run it, an amazing race.
Gary also currently weight trains, cross-country skis and snowshoes.
*Gary currently lives in Fargo and is Vice President of new accounts at Great Plains/Microsoft. He has carried the excellence that he learned in running into the Business World. He is married and has three children.
