Roadrace PRs:
5000 Meters - 18:00
10000 Meters- 38:00
Half Marathon- 1:22
Marathon- TBA Just registered for the 2002 Chicago Marathon!
Favorite Race: Apple Duathlon (Sartell, MN by St. Cloud); It's a 10 K run, then a 40K bike, and then a 5 K run. Duathlons are like triathlons for people who don't like to swim.
Running Story: When I was at U-Mary, there was no indoor track facility, so Spring Training meant running on the Highway. One particularly frigid and windy day (it was blizzarding), a coach sent us out the door and said to just run south (with the wind at our backs) and she would pick us up in 45 minutes. The magic time came and went with no coach. It seemed like forever and we were making our way to some distant farm house when she sped up to us. She confessed that she'd forgotten about us. I think we all came dangerously close to frostbite, but laugh about it now.
Favorite Place to Run: The bike trails along the Missouri River.
Current Running: About an hour 4 to 5 times a week. Other days I swim or ride bike.
Marnie lives in Bismarck, is married to Shayne and has two sons. She works in the Marketing Department at MedCenter One Health Systems.
